Improved Technology Controls in Courtroom 21
Crestron Touch Panels and Controller Wired in the McGlothlin Courtroom

Courtroom 21, housed in the McGlothlin Courtroom at the William and Mary Law School and considered the world’s most technologically advanced courtroom, announces recent equipment and capability upgrades supplied by Crestron Electronics. Crestron is a leading manufacturer of advanced control and automation systems in controllers that allow remote monitoring and management of audio and video systems.

Crestron equipped Courtroom 21 with several touch-panel controllers including the TPMC-17-QM, the TPMC-15-QM and the wireless TPMC-10. Directed by the Crestron-supplied AV2, full command and integration of the touch-panels, display systems and audio systems is now easier to manage and direct. Benefits include quick and easy annotation from control panels to any display source, and the ability to use the controller as a monitor to view displayed information.

With Crestron equipment, control can be set in three different modes: Courtroom, Classroom and Manual. In Courtroom mode, evidence can be sent to individual displays for the judge, counsel, witness and jury. Classroom mode allows evidence to be seen on all displays, and Manual enables the clerk to send evidence to individual displays as needed.

Embedded software enables the court clerk to open documents created in other programs such as Microsoft® and Adobe Acrobat® via the control panel versus routing through an additional computer. All of this adds up to improved and easier control of the courtroom equipment and technology in this state-of-the-art courtroom.
