Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago Visit CLCT
On December 8 th, 2006, the Center for Legal and Court Technology was visited by two distinguished guests from the Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago, The Honorable The Acting Chief Justice Mr. Justice Roger Hamel-Smith and Gary M.A. Kelly, Court Executive Administrator.
Also present was Williamsburg’s independent trainer for Stenograph Corporation and Advantage Software, Dave Stanley, who, within the past year, visited Trinidad and Tobago to assist in training their Parliamentary court reporters on techniques for providing real-time.
Our guests were particularly interested in remote appearances via videoconferencing as oftentimes witnesses are on another island. Although there are judicial Stenographic court reporters, the judges take notes in the old English manner.
