Law School Support | Legal Community Support
A major and expanding component of CLCT is its work in education and training. In addition to classes offered to students enrolled at William and Mary’s School of Law, the Center also routinely holds training programs for interested attorneys, judges, courtroom technologists, and other members of the legal community. Many of these training programs are offered in Williamsburg, but Project staff are also available to travel to other locations to offer training courses. The programs feature a range of topics, including:
Courtroom Technology: A Survey Course for Litigators
Persuasive Courtroom Presentation Technology
Digital Discovery in the Real World - Tools to Equip a Lawyer in Trial or an ADR Setting
Deposition of the Technology Forensic Witness
Electronic Discovery of Email: A Course for Litigators & Investigators
High-Tech Trial Certification for Trial Lawyers
One of the Project’s most successful initiatives has been our certification course for legal technologists. This course is designed to assist court IT personnel in dealing with the audio and video aspects of modern courtroom technologist.
The Courtroom 21 Project includes cutting edge distance education technologies. Although the Project has conducted distance education activities for many years, we are now planning a major expansion to address the needs of our Court Affiliates, judges, lawyers, and court reporters.
