Court Affiliates
The CLCT Court Affiliates Program is a court network with a shared mission: to employ useful, efficient, and economical legal technology to enhance the administration of justice.
As part of the Center for Legal & Court Technology (CLCT) at William & Mary Law School, the Court Affiliates Program benefits from the expertise of law professors and students conducting cutting-edge research on technological innovation to enhance courts, courthouses, and especially courtrooms and hearing rooms across the country. We benefit from the judges, administrators, and court technologists in our network who share their practical insights gathering from implementing real-world solutions to the common goal of administering justice.
Since its inception in 1999, the Court Affiliates Program has offered courts an avenue to interact and solve common problems. Using the CLCT-managed McGlothlin Courtroom as its hub, our staff and Affiliates have worked together to determine best practices and promote compliance with the legal and pragmatic needs of the courts.
Our Affiliate courts include federal, state, and non-U.S. courts throughout the country. The program is designed for judges, administrators, lawyers, and technologists. We offer online workshops on current topics featuring innovative speakers who share their experiences and offer Affiliates the opportunity to share information with each other on timely, important matters. The CLCT staff monitors legal developments related to new technologies such as artificial intelligence and social media, as well as more traditional topics including courtroom design, ethics, privacy, and electronically-accessible court information. Information also is shared through a Court Affiliates newsletter. The annual Court Affiliates conference continues to be the highlight of the year, bringing courts together to learn and discuss the most groundbreaking advancements in courtroom and related technology and the impact of technology on courts. In 2021, we will offer participant courts access to our Affiliates Shared Documents section of the website, which contains illustrative documents produced by Court Affiliates so that courts can avoid “reinventing the wheel.” We anticipate standing committees able to offer advice to other Court Affiliates about matters such as courthouse construction and renovation.
Our goal is to assist courts and adjudicatory agencies in their critical mission of providing accurate, efficient, and economical administration of justice. Our annual fee is only $125.00 per court. We invite your court to join the Court Affiliates program today!

The Court Affiliates participation fee is $125 annually per court.
The 2023 Court Affiliates Conference is scheduled for June 1-2, 2023.
