Why This Training Matters

The current growth of audio/video systems in courts has greatly stretched the knowledge pool of most court technology support personnel. At the same time, many courts face limited resources to hire new staff.

That means today’s professionals must build and expand their own technical skill sets. Audio Video courtroom training is becoming increasingly important.

Courts today need personnel who are building their AV courtroom skill sets and knowledge.

Course Contents

This session provides an overview of audio/video technologies as seen in Courtrooms and Courthouses today

This is an elementary level discussion of the basics of audio/video and the physical properties they perform in.

An audio system is the most basic and important part of courtroom technology. This session identifies the parts of the system for sound reinforcement, court record, hearing assistance and language interpretation.

This session describes the importance of video display in courtrooms and the technological parts of such a system. It includes a discussion of the copyright and security safeguards found in digital video and their impact on courtroom use.

Whether by telephone or video conferencing, use of this technology has vastly increased since COVID. This session describes the various types of remote communication systems.

The foundation of all technology systems is the infrastructure on which they function. Infrastructure is more than just conduit and floor boxes. It is cable, fiber optic, connectors and control systems. This session describes all the required parts to make a stable foundation for audio/video use.

No matter how good a technological system is, it must be supported. This session explains the importance of supporting, maintaining and documenting audio/video systems. Recommendations for further personnel training are included in this session.
